Labour TD captures rat in Leinster House

A Labour TD has told how people were tucking their trousers into their socks after he captured a rat in the Leinster House complex last week.

Kevin Humphreys spotted the rodent on the stairs on Friday.

There have been reports of a number of sightings of rats in recent weeks, however officials in Leinster House say the issue is "under control".

Deputy Humphreys has described how some of the male TDs "had a bit of a scream" when they saw the animal.
