Labour Senator accuses party of sexism
A junior Labour minister has denied that the party is guilty of sexism.
Ged Nash, who is running as a candidate in the Louth consituency, has been accused of excluding his female running mate from a canvass in the county today.
Labour Senator Mary Moran told the Journal.ie that her exclusion is 'another example of the ‘old boys club’ at work'.
Minister of State Ged Nash, has said it is disappointing to hear those remarks.
“If there’s one thing the Labour party can never be accused of it is sexism and inequality.
“It is a disappointing remark that has no basis in reality.
“I understand that offers have been made to Senator Moran, for different constituent parts of the county over the last couple of months and it is her business whether she accepts that offer of help or not.”
