Labour criticises reduction in rent supplement

The Labour Party says the reduction in rent supplement announced in yesterday's emergency budget is an "extraordinarily cruel decision".
The Government announced an 8% cut in assistance to tenants as part of the measures to plug a growing black hole in the public finances.
Labour's social and family affairs spokesperson, Roisin Shortall, says this will significantly effect tenants who are tied into leases.
