Kilkenny is the country's cleanest city - again

Kilkenny has retained the title as Ireland’s Cleanest City at an awards ceremony in Dublin.

It is the first time a town or city has retained the title in the survey by Irish Business Against Litter.

The An Taisce inspectors commended Kilkenny on a great result with all sites getting the top litter grade," said IBAL Spokesperson Conor Horgan.

Great care was taken with the streetscape along high street, the approach road from Dublin was in excellent condition and conveyed a very high impression of the town."

The town narrowly beat Cavan and Tramore to take the crown.
