Kildare County Council names foreman killed in collision

Kildare County Council has named the foreman killed in a collision in Maynooth yesterday as 59-year-old Kevin O'Sullivan.

Kildare County Council has named the foreman killed in a collision in Maynooth yesterday as 59-year-old Kevin O'Sullivan.

Mr O'Sullivan, who'd worked for the council for 22 years was on point duty at a stop/go system in Graiguesallagh at 3pm yesterday when he was struck by a car.

He died a short time later at Naas General Hospital.

Gardaí are investigating and the Health and Safety Authority have been informed.

Kildare's Mayor, Micheál "Spike" Nolan and County Manager, Michael Malone, have extended their sympathies to Mr O'Sullivan's family.
