Shelves stacked high with garlic collapsed and killed 15 workers at a cold-storage warehouse in central China.
The accident in the city of Zhengzhou buried more than 30 employees under a pile of garlic shoots and broken shelving, the Beijing Times reported.
Fifteen bodies had been recovered, the official Xinhua News Agency said. Another 19 people were in hospital.
Newspaper photos showed rescue workers in orange jumpsuits and white helmets pulling survivors from the wreckage.
The workers were stacking produce at the Chenzhai Cold Storage when shelves piled 30 feet high with garlic shoots collapsed, the reports said.
Police have detained the storage facility’s owner, identified only by the surname Zhang.
