The Taoiseach has said he hopes a new deal on water charges should be signed off next week.
Enda Kenny insisted there was no hope of abandoning the Irish Water project.
The Taoiseach has been visiting Galway where more than 1,000 homes were put under boil notices last week.
Mr Kenny told Galway Bay FM the Government wanted to draw a line under the confusion surrounding water charges.
"We hope to address people's legitimate concerns, that were expressed to us very forcibly in the last fortnight, and we can hopefully deal with that next week," he said.
