Kenny: Martin afraid to say 'Fianna Fáil' on campaign trail

16/02/2011 - 15:38:05
The Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has said Micheál Martin and his party are afraid to use the words "Fianna Fáil" on the campaign trail.

Enda Kenny made the comments on his campaign trail in County Limerick today.

He is buoyed up by recent opinion polls showing Fine Gael is edging towards a possible overall majority.

Mr Kenny told a gathering in Bruff that Fianna Fáil will get a message in the ballot box on Friday week.

Mr Kenny said: "They are two words that their members, including their leader, will not speak in public during this campaign, because they know that those two words 'Fianna Fáil' have broken the backs of the people of Ireland and broken the trust of the people of Ireland during the last decade.

"They let us down and they are going to be punished in the polls on the 25th."
