Kenny: I'd prefer if TDs raised concerns in meetings rather than newspapers

The Taoiseach says he would prefer if TDs from his own party would raise their concerns at parliamentary party or internal committee meetings.

It follows an article in today's Irish Examiner in which eight Fine Gael TDs raised questions about the Croke Park agreement.

They are calling for increments and allowances for higher earning civil servants to be put back on the table.

But speaking in Sligo, Enda Kenny said the government is already examining what can be achieved through the "outer limits" of the deal and had this message for his eight deputies.

“I haven’t seen the Examiner but clearly my preference is for deputies to air these matters in the parliamentary party or internal committee meetings.

“I'm speaking to them now.”
