Kenny: Gathering about bringing people back to Ireland
The government has announced a €2m fund for 'The Gathering' projects around the country next year.
Half the money is being provided by IPB insurance with the remainder coming from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.
The fund will be administered by local authorities and fund three flagship events in every county and up to 700 more community events all around the country.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says it will play a huge part in the country's economic recovery.
