Kenny Christmas message aimed at families with loved ones abroad

Enda Kenny has directed his Christmas message at families who are apart for Christmas.

He said he wanted to tell these families: "We are working day and night to strengthen our country's recovery and create the jobs that will allow (your loved ones) to come home."

He said Christmas was a time to give thanks for the higher things - our health, happiness and "people who travel the journey of life with us and with their help and kindness make life worth living".

The Taoiseach added families with loved ones abroad would be catching up over facebook and Skype but added "Facetime, good as it is, is no substiture for face-to-face".

He concludes: "I wish the special blessings of Christmas to you and to all those you love."
