Gardaí say the investigation into the death of Karl Holmes in Dublin is not a murder inquiry.

The father of two lost his life following an attack at Avonbeg Gardens in Tallaght last evening.

A post mortem on the 44-year-old's remains has now been completed and Gardaí say they are investigating the matter as a violent disorder, assault and a public order incident.

It is understood a row broke out over a child's use of a bike.

Gardaí in Tallaght are continuing to appeal to any witnesses to contact them on 01 666 6000.
