Justice dept refuses to comment on Drumm extradition reports

The Department of Justice has said it will not comment on reports that it has begun the process to extradite David Drumm from the United States.

It is reported that diplomatic moves are underway to have the former Anglo CEO returned to Ireland to face criminal charges.

The Department has said he will not comment, and does not comment on any such incidents.

It said confirming plans for an extradition would be tantamount to informing someone they would be sought for prosecution.

In a statement it said that any comment would "only serve to alert the subject to the request".
