July? Wet and windy for most, with weather warning in the west

A weather warning is in place for much of the west of Ireland.

Met Éireann has issued a yellow wind warning for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare.

Gusts of 90 to 110kmph are expected overnight and tomorrow morning.

The warning is in place until 9pm tomorrow.

It will remain wet everywhere, with the west getting the worst of the conditions - there will be some clear spells elsewhere tonight and tomorrow.

Lowest temperatures are forecast to be 9C to 12C.

Tomorrow will start mainly dry with sunshine in eastern areas, but showers in the west will become widespread through the day, with some very heavy downpours occurring in the west and northwest.

It will be a very windy day, with strong and gusty west to southwest winds, with gales at times in western and northwestern coastal fringes.
