The judge in the trial of three men accused of the murder of a Limerick bouncer has begun charging the jury at the Central Criminal Court sitting at Clover Hill.
Gary Campion (aged 24) of Pineview Gardens, Moyross, Limerick, Desmond Dundon (aged 23) from Ballinacurra Weston, Co. Limerick and Clare business man Anthony Kelly (aged 50) with an address at Killrush, plead not guilty to murdering Mr Brian Fitzgerald in the early hours of November 29, 2002 at Brookhaven Walk, Mill Road, Corbally, Limerick.
Mr Justice Peter Charleton warned the jury of twelve men that they must be wary of the evidence of chief prosecution witness James Martin Cahill, as he was an accomplice.
He told them that accomplice evidence could be strengthened by corroborating evidence but there was no such evidence for either Desmond Dundon or Anthony Kelly.
He said they would have to decide whether the evidence against Gary Campion fell into this category.
The jury are expected to begin their deliberations tomorrow once Mr Justice Charleton has completed his charge.
