Judge orders arrest of teen accused of Government Buildings trespass
A judge has today ordered the arrest of a 17-year-old boy accused of trespassing on Government buildings on Merrion Street in Dublin.
The youth had been charged last month at the Dublin Children's Court with trespassing with intent to commit an offence or interfere with property, at Government buildings, on Tuesday, June 26.
The teen is also accused of theft of a wallet containing €150, at Fitzwilliam Street, on the same date and "made no reply" to the charges, the court had heard at his first appearance.
On June 27, he was accompanied to his hearing by his mother, granted legal aid and remanded on bail to appear again today to enter a plea to the charges.
Gardai had also been directed to hand over copies of the prosecution evidence - including CCTV footage - to the boy's lawyer.
Bail conditions were also imposed and the boy, who lives in Dublin, was ordered to obey a daily curfew from 10pm until 8am and to remain sober.
However, Judge Bridget Reilly issued a bench warrant for his arrest today when he did not turn up for his hearing.
