A scheme designed to get work for the long-term unemployed has seen nearly 1,600 people taken off the Live Register.

Companies who take part in the 'Jobsplus' programme get financial incentives to help with the cost of hiring jobseekers.

More than 2,800 employers have registered their interest in getting involved and 57 have been rejected.
