Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) has launched a major recruitment drive.

Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) has launched a major recruitment drive.

The organisation is taking on part-time lecturers, who will be available to teach during the academic years 2010/2011 and 2011/2012.

These positions, which cover all 161 disciplines across the Bishopstown, CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, CIT Cork School of Music and the National Maritime College of Ireland campuses are designed to have suitably qualified staff available to cover eventualities such as illness and leave.

The positions are part-time and may be particularly suitable for those who may have retired or are in a position where they would be available, at relatively short notice, to step in where and when needed, a spokesperson said.

“We continually up-dating and designing the courses on offer to students and the growth in night-time study reflects the fact that CIT is positioned to answer the Government’s call to up-skill and re-train.”

CIT is comprised of two constituent faculties and three constituent colleges.

The constituent faculties are Engineering and Science; and Business and Humanities. The constituent colleges are the CIT Crawford College of Art and Design, the CIT Cork School of Music and the National Maritime College of Ireland.

For details of particular vacancies that may become available, please log on to www.cit.ie/currentvacancies — application is only by way of CIT’s eRecruitment system.

Postal applications will not be accepted. Interviews will be arranged to meet specific demands as they arise. The closing date for the submission of eApplications is midday, Wednesday, August 25. See also www.cit.ie.
