The British Government will reveal more plans about its exit from the European Union as British Prime Minister Theresa May returns from her summer break.

Ministers are apparently considering letting Irish people move freely in and out of the UK without checks.

Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes has said a lot of issues still need to be ironed out.

"Politically it has not settled one way or the other, what the British will do even though if one looks at the negotiating time between now and the issue coming before the European Parliament in 2019, we are left with a very short window to get this done," he said.
