Irish universities fail to make lecturers' most prestigious list

Irish universities have failed to make the top 100 list of the world's most prestigious institutions.

The poll published by Times Higher Education is based solely on reputation. Over 10,000 academics were asked to name their top 15 institutions, with their answers then aggregated into a "reputation index".

The number one college is Harvard, followed by MIT and Stanford.

Trinity College Dublin came in around the 200 mark.

For a fuller account of the rankings, here is our report from last night.
