Irish students urged to avoid Mexico drinking binges

Irish students on J1 holidays in the US city of San Diego are being warned against traveling to Mexico to avoid US drinking laws.
Many of those aged under 21 travel to the Mexican city of Tijuana near the US border for nights out.
But a local police sergeant has warned that boozed-up college-goers are easy targets for criminals who prey on them after long drinking sessions.
Muggings, drink spiking and even kidnappings are common problems in Tijuana.
