Irish mobile networks have today announced pricing plans for the iPhone 6, which will go on sale next week.
Each network is offering the phone to contract customers only to begin with, on 24-month standard contracts. Pre-order schemes start from today as the operators expect high demand from customers.
Meteor is accepting pre-orders online from this morning, and has priced the iPhone 6 at €249 on its €39 / month contract, €149 on its €49 / month plan, and €499 for those who opt to pay just €19 each month.
O2 is offering the base handset at €179.99 on the €55 monthly contract, €219.99 on their €39.73 contract, and €59.99 at €70 every month.
Three Ireland will price the iPhone 6 handset from €179 on their €55 per month plan. They will be available to pre-order from 2pm today, when price points for other plans will be known.
Vodafone, meanwhile, will offer the device from €249.99 with a €40 monthly fee, €149.99 on their €55 / month option, and €49.99 on their €75+ contracts.
The phones are also available on shorter contract terms with O2 at increased prices.
The larger iPhone 6 Plus model, which features a 5.5-inch screen (compared to the base model's 4.7-inch) will cost approximately €100 more on each network with every plan.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus can also be purchased directly from Apple without a contract, at a starting price of €699 for the regular model and €799 for the Plus.
All listed pricing is for the base model with 16GB of storage, while phones with larger storage capacity will cost more. The 128GB iPhone 6 Plus, when ordered directly from Apple without any monthly contract, will cost the end user €999.
A spokesperson for Three Ireland said "there has been a great level of interest in the new iPhones from customers, and we expect to sell out promptly."
