Irish nanny to appear before US court today

Irish nanny Aisling McCarthy Brady will make her third appearance in court in Boston today, accused of assaulting a baby who later died.

The 34-year-old, a native of Lavey in Cavan, is charged with the assault and battery of Rehma Sabir.

She has been in custody since last month when the case was adjourned.

Her lawyers have previously said that Ms McCarthy Brady is "devastated" by the accusation and strongly denies any involvement in the death of the one-year-old.

She is due in court in Boston later today.
