Irish grocery prices 20% higher than European average - Eurostat

Irish shoppers are paying through the nose for groceries with prices on average 20% higher than the European average.

New figures from Eurostat show Ireland has the fifth highest prices in Europe for a basket of shopping, not including alcohol.

But when it does come to drink, we pay the second highest price in the EU.
