Irish-Chinese trade now worth €1bn, Minister reports

The Minister for Trade and Development said trade between Ireland and China is now worth €1bn.

Speaking at the annual Chinese New Year lunch of the Ireland-Hong Kong Business Forum, Joe Costello said the Government’s decision to open a Consulate General in Hong Kong would allow Ireland to build on this important relationship.

He said the Government will work closely with State agencies to build further trade and investment with a view to creating jobs at home.
