Irish Anti-War Movement to march between the Russian and US Embassies today

The Irish Anti-War Movement (IAWM) is holding a peace march today between the Russian and US Embassies in Dublin calling for an immediate end to the conflict in Syria.

The group is calling on the Irish government to summon the US and Russian Ambassadors to demand they cease their military involvement in Syria.

It is also calling for refugees receive sanctuary as needed in Europe and other countries.

"We're assembling at the Russian Embassy at 2pm," said Jim Roche from the IAWM.

"We'll be pointing out a few things about Syria - I mean, it's just an appalling situation there.

"There's almost half a million people dead from the war, there's almost five million have fled as refugees, over six million are internally displaced."
