Two separate investigations are being carried out after a passenger fell while disembarking from a plane at Dublin Airport.

The woman had arrived on an Aer Lingus Regional flight from Manchester on September 30 when the incident occurred.

Stobart Air, which operates the Aer Lingus Regional franchise, has confirmed the incident took place and that the airline is cooperating with an official investigation. The airline is also investigating the matter.

Flight EI-3323 arrived in Dublin from Manchester on September 30 and taxied to the terminal.

As passengers were disembarking from the ATR-72 turboprop plane a woman suffered a fall on the aircraft’s stairs.

Ground staff assisted the woman and alerted emergency medical services.

The woman was treated by airport paramedics before being transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

The passenger, who was due to make a connecting flight to the US, was able to continue her journey the following day.

Stobart Air has confirmed that a passenger "injured her wrist while disembarking the aircraft.”

The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) of the Department of Transport has also confirmed they have launched an investigation.
