A man critically injured in a workplace accident in Cork city on Monday has died.

A man critically injured in a workplace accident in Cork city on Monday has died.

The man was from Inniscarra, outside Cork City.

The victim, who was in his 50s, sustained head injuries when the cherry picker he was using tipped over at Bus Éireann's Capwell garage.

It is reported the man was a contractor, who was working alone in the garage.

Bus Eireann has extended its sympathies to the family of contractor who died following an accident at the company's Capwell Garage in Cork.

Bus Eireann is carrying out an investigation.

The company says co-operating with Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority, who are also looking into the event.
