An investigation is underway after a rescue operation uncovered 340 dogs and 11 horses from a puppy farm in Myshall, Co. Carlow.
The operation carried out by ISPCA Officers, Gardaí and officials from the Department of Agriculture took place over a nine-day period.
Many of the dogs found were suffering from chronic skin, eye and teeth problems, a number of them had untreated injuries and their paws were also badly infected from being soaked in urine.
The majority of the animals were transported to the ISPCA National Animal Centre in Longford.
The investigation is ongoing.
