Investigation launched into fatal ambulance crash
18/09/2005 - 10:14:27An internal investigation is underway at the Health Service Executive following yesterday's accident in Co Cork in which an ambulance driver lost his life.
The man - in his 40s - died in hospital following the crash, which happened outside Bandon.
The ambulance was carrying two other medical workers as well as a patient at the time of the accident, all of whom are now being treated at Cork University Hospital.
It's the second ambulance accident in the country in the past few days - on Thursday one collided with a car off O'Connell Street in Dublin.
