Inquests into Kentstown deaths begins later today
11/08/2008 - 07:31:46Inquests into the deaths of five schoolgirls who lost their lives in the Kentstown bus crash in 2005 are due to begin at Trim Courthouse in Co Meath today.
Fifteen-year-olds Aimee McCabe, Lisa Callan and Sinead Ledwidge, 17-year-old Deirdre Scanlan and 18-year-old Claire McCluskey were killed when a Bus Eireann school bus in which they were travelling overturned on the Navan to Kentstown road.
The inquest was given the go-ahead last month after Bus Eireann indicated that it would not be appealing a €2m fine imposed on it by Dublin Circuit Court earlier this year in relation to the crash.
