The Government is being accused of compromising patient care by cutting jobs in the health sector.

INMO claims Govt cut 600 frontline jobs this year

The Government is being accused of compromising patient care by cutting jobs in the health sector.

According to the INMO, 804 nursing and midwifery posts were axed in the first 10 months of 2013.

The union also claims that almost three-quarters of those jobs were in frontline services.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation wants jobs in their sector to be exempt from futher cuts.
