IHCA won't attend consultant court hearing

Changes in work practices for hospital consultants will be up for discussion at the Labour Court today, but one representative group says it won't be there.
The Irish Hospital Consultants Association says it can't negotiate collectively on behalf of its members, as each consultant has an individual contract.
It has also claimed the items being discussed are outside the terms of the Croke Park Agreement.
Health service management, and the Irish Medical Organisation will be attending the hearing.
Earlier this week, the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform warned that he expects consultants to attend today, saying they can't pick and choose the parts of the Croke Park deal that suit them.
