IFA President, John Dillon has welcomed the decisive result of the Nice Referendum and thanked farm families for their support for a 'Yes' vote.
Mr Dillon said the IFA had campaigned vigorously through its 935 branches for a 'Yes' vote.
He said the weekend's result strengthened the hand of the Government in the CAP Review negotiations in Brussels.
He said changes to the CAP would be negotiated in the future but he was adamant that the present agreement must remain in place until the end of 2006.
He said the French government have given a strong lead in this position.
The IFA President reiterated that the IFA intends to pursue the farm income campaign and a number of other issues directly with the Government now that the Nice Referendum has concluded.
