IFA plead to halt cuts to farm schemes


The Irish Farmers Association is appealing to the Government to rule out any further cuts to farm schemes.

The IFA says funding for the agriculture sector needs to be ring fenced ahead of December's Budget to help cover the losses caused by the ongoing wet weather.

The lobby group says farmers were hit disproportionately by cut backs in financial supports of up to 17% this year.
