Sinn Féin TD Padraig MacLochlainn says he was "stitched up" on a recent appearance on Tonight with Vincent Browne on TV3.
The party's Justice Spokesperson appeared on the show on Wednesday night to discuss the findings of the Smithwick report.
During the debate, Deputy MacLochlainn said that the IRA members who shot Bob Buchanan and Harry Breen had a duty "as much as Michael Collins and the IRA and the War of Independence".
He has told Highland Radio that he has had nothing but support since his appearance.
