Update at 9.15pm

Several hundred mourners attended the removal of Cathriona White, which lasted a little over four hours this evening.

Around 200 mourners walked alongside the White family the short distance from White's Funeral Directors down main street in Cappawhite, to the parish church where prayers were said.

The coffin was shouldered by Catriona's family including her brother James, out of the funeral home to a waiting black hearse before it was slowly taken to the church.

White family walked to the church behind the hearse carrying the coffin, led by Cathriona's mother Brigid, stepmother Bríd, brother James, sisters Lisa and Sarah, stepbrother Tadgh and and half sister Larina.

There was no appearance by Jim Carey.

Fr Tadgh Furlong said the loss of a loved one was painful but for the White family "the loss of someone so young" was "even more painful" for them to bear.

He said the local community "would not be found wanting" when supporting the White family.

Fr Furlong described Cathriona's death as "tragic" and "deeply sad".

Cathriona's coffin will repose overnight in the church.

Update at 8pm

Members of the junior and senior Cappawhite ladies football team, which Cathriona played, are at the funeral home to perform a guard of honour when Cathriona's coffin is brought from the funeral home by hearse to Cappawhite church at the other end of the village.

Update at 6.30pm

Hundreds of mourners have gathered in Cappawhite, Co Tipperary, this evening for the removal of Jim Carrey's ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, who passed away in tragic circumstances last month.

A stream of neighbours and friends gathered from around 3.30pm outside Ms White's grandfather's funeral directors on the village's main street, to pay their respects.

Ms White's body was found by friends at her home in Los Angeles, California, on September 28th last.

One of a number of suicide notes found in her house apparently referred to her love for ex boyfriend Mr Carrey, after their on off relationship had broken down.

Hollywood star Carrey flew into Dublin Airport this morning for the funeral. A private jet carrying the Dumb and Dumber star, plus a small entourage, landed at Dublin Airport at 2.20am.

The jet had begun its journey several hours earlier in Van Nuys, Los Angelus, where local police have been investigating Ms White's death.

An autopsy was conducted in California. However, results of toxicology tests will not be known for some weeks.

This evening, Ms White's siblings, James, Lisa, Sarah, Larina and Tadgh, as well as her grandparents James and Lilly, stepmother Bríd, and mother Brigid, and other family members, shook hands with mourners who filed past her closed coffin, on which a single framed portrait of Ms White rested.

The 30-year old budding actress is to be laid to rest tomorrow in her native Cappawhite, beside her late father Pat, who died in 2012, following a long battle with cancer.

The family plot in the local cemetery was prepared earlier today ahead of the burial service.

A large gathering of photographers and reporters gathered outside White's Funeral Directors in Cappawhite this evening, while a large media presence is also due to be in attendance tomorrow at Our Lady of Fatima Church in the South Tipperary village.

Mr Carrey, who became a star after appearing in box office hits, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, and The Truman Show, began a relationship in 2012 with Ms White, who was working as a make-up artist on film sets.

The pair split in 2013 but rekindled their romance for one another before parting again last month.

It emerged last week that Ms White was married to US cameraman Mark Burton. They had been separated for some time.

There has been no sighting of Mr Carrey or Mr Burton at this evening's removal in Cappawhite.

Ms White's sister Lisa, and her stepmother Bríd, returned to Cappawhite this week after travelling last week to California to repatriate her body.

Cathriona's mother Brigid, who has lived in England for the past few years, also travelled to Cappawhite.

Ms White's requiem mass is to take place tomorrow at 11.30am.

A statement from the Catholic a Communications Office (CCO) said: "As Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cappawhite has a limited capacity of 300 seats, the inside of the church has been reserved for family, loved ones and parishioners only."

"An external loud speaker, and a small reserved area for media cameras, will be available on the church grounds," the CCO added.
