HSE will process woman's epilepsy treatment appeal16/01/2013 - 07:47:41
The HSE says it will now process the appeal of a Cork woman who was turned down for medical treatment abroad.
Grainne O'Connor, 27, who has epilepsy, applied for funding to go to London for tests, but was told on December 10th that she had been unsuccessful.
Her appeal letter to the HSE arrived outside the window of 10 working days and was also refused, prompting her father Tom O'Connor to highlight her case publicly earlier this week.
Grainne has now received a letter from the health service saying the appeal will be processed.
