HSE criticised over handling of medical card changes
08/04/2009 - 13:32:39The Irish Medical Organisation is accusing the HSE of a shambolic approach to the scrapping of the automatic medical-card entitlement for over-70s.
The HSE has deferred taking back medical cards from people who are no longer eligible, blaming a delay in informing the patients affected and their doctors.
The IMO says this is causing widespread confusion as no announcement has been made about the changes.
