Customer relations, outsourcing and HR company SouthWestern is to create 260 jobs in Cork.

The company's Irish operations are based in Clonakility, Co Cork, and it also has operations in Poland and the UK.

It will officially opens new offices at East Gate, Little Island, on the outskirts of Cork city today at 12 noon.

One hundred of the 260 new jobs will be created immediately as the firm increases services for its clients, according to a report in the Irish Independent.

SouthWestern's client list includes Bord Gais Energy, Independent News & Media and the HSE.

The company handles over €6bn per year in transactions for its clients.
