Howlin: No need to tamper with Croke Park deal11/09/2012 - 12:42:12
The Public Expenditure Minister says the Croke Park Agreement is changeable but there's no reason to tamper with something that's delivering.
Brendan Howlin made the comment as he arrived in County Kildare for the start of the Parliamentary Labour Party pre-Dáil think-in.
Minister Howlin says the coalition is determined to see out the deal with public servants: "It is delivering on all the targets set but nothing is immutable.
"We have a deal and as long as the other sides stick to the deal - that we get to the reforms, get to the changed practices and get savings in public expenditure, which is the really important thing - the government will stick to its side of the bargin."
