A Dublin home has suffered fire damage, after a hoverboard self combusted tonight.

A Dublin home has suffered fire damage, after a hoverboard self-combusted tonight.

Kilbarrack and North Strand crews were called to a house fire in Artane, where the device had been charging when it overheated.

Flames from the hoverboard spread to a nearby laptop and a couch.

The devices proved to be popular Christmas presents however they've since been recalled by several retailers.

No one was injured in tonight's blaze.
