A homemade bomb has been found in a housing estate in Finglas in Dublin.

A homemade bomb has been found in a housing estate in Finglas in Dublin.

The device was discovered outside one of the homes early this afternoon. The army bomb disposal team evacuated several neighbours before the area was declared safe.

There was no need for a controlled explosion. However, the device was taken to a secure military location for further examination where it has been confirmed as viable.
