A homeless man has escaped uninjured after he was tipped from a bin into a waste collection truck in Dublin.
A Greyhound bin lorry was making a collection at the Hardwick Street flats in the city centre this morning when the bin was emptied.
The man seeking refuge from the cold had been sleeping in a large recycling bin, and was accidentally dumped into the lorry.
A spokesperson for Greyhound said the man is very fortunate that the compactor was not in operation at the time.
The company said they are now calling on other waste management services to introduce safety checks following an increase in the number of homeless people seeking shelter in the bins.
