Home Payments customers to be awarded €1.2m interim payment

Customers of the Home Payments company, which went into liquidation last year, will be awarded an interim payment of €1.2m.

The High Court has given permission to the Joint Liquidators for the debt management company to distribute the money to customers on a pro-rata basis - meaning they will receive an amount that's in proportion to how much they are owed.

Home Payments went into liquidation in August of last year - leaving debts of €6.7m to around 2,300 customers.

The final decision on the distribution of the rest of the money left in the company's accounts will be made by the High Court.

The case is due to be heard again on October 15.
