Home helps mount demonstration outside Dept of Health
13/03/2006 - 12:41:10Home-help workers from all over the country are demonstrating outside the Department of Health in Dublin this afternoon.
The protestors are angry over reductions in their hours of work and a failure to implement agreed pay and conditions.
SIPTU official Orlagh Fawl, one of the organisers of today's demonstration, said: "Home helps are a very gentle workforce, so for them to participate in something like this just shows their level of frustration."
