Historic Boland's Mill site to be redeveloped at cost of €150m

Planning permission has been granted to develop three new buildings at the Boland's Mill site in Dublin.

The €150 million development will be made up of office, residential, retail and cultural space over a two-level basement - totalling 397,000 square feet of floor space.

The project will also involve the restoration of a number of protected Mill buildings and the development of a new civic plaza on to the waterfront to Grand Canal Dock.

The landmark site is to be rebranded "Boland's Quay".

Savills, who are handling the project, said demolition and "enabling works" will begin immediately.

“Dublin City Council’s decision to grant planning permission for the development of Boland’s Mill – one of the city’s most iconic sites – is great news for the Docklands and Dublin as a whole," said Mark Reynolds, Director at Savills.

"The purpose of designating the area a strategic development zone was to facilitate fast track planning applications for much-needed commercial and residential development – this shows it has worked."
