High Court to hear case for stopping all Garth Brooks gigs in two days

Legal proceedings to prevent the Garth Brooks concerts from going ahead at Croke Park will be heard in the High Court on Thursday morning.

The application is for an injunction to stop all of Garth Brooks shows later this month, even the three on July 25, 26 and 27 that have been granted permission by Dublin City Council.

The case against Croke Park and Aiken Promotions is being made by Brian Duff.

His barrister Frank Callanan described him in court as a scaffolder who has lived in the area at North Cumberland Street all his life.

His concerns are that he will have restricted access to his home while the shows are going on and that there will be anti-social behaviour with concertgoers "vomiting and urinating on the streets".

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan has set aside time on Thursday morning to hear the injunction application.
