The Arts and Heritage Minister said she is happy with the backlash against the official 1916 commemoration video, because it started a conversation.
The Ireland 2016 makes no mention of the Easter Rising or any of its leaders - but instead has clips of people including Queen Elizabeth, Bono and Bob Geldof.
It also emerged that the Government used Google Translate for its official 1916 website.
Minister Heather Humphreys said she wants more people to give their views on the Government's commemorations.
"The video actually got people engaged and it started people talking - and that's what I want about these commemorations," she said.
"I want people to get engaged. I want people from all over the country involved … that's why we've opened the consultation period now. I want people to let their views be known."
