Ireland can forget about the prospect of any snow in the coming days, forecasters say.
Wintry weather has swept the UK, with many travellers left stranded as heavy snow covered roads and forced two airports to close.
However, here in Ireland it's a very different picture - wintry showers are not expected to feature over the coming days.
Today will be chilly, with sunshine in many places. The only chance of snowfall is on Northern hills.
Met Éireann meteorologist David Rodgers said: "Showers are moving in from the Atlantic to the North and to the West."
He said the showers would mainly affect Ulster, Connacht and west Munster but that the rest of the country would be largely dry with sunny spells.
"The threat of any snow in the showers will be for upland regions and mountainous areas and we don't expect any disruption from it," he said.
Meanwhile, there are reports of patches of ice lingering on some roads around the country, as temperatures dipped to freezing overnight in places.
Drivers are being warned to take extreme care, and to slow down as there is a risk of black ice.
AA Roadwatch are reporting four crashes on the M1 southbound between Junction 20 Jonesborough and Junction 15 Castlebellingham.
Arwin Foley from AA Roadwatch, says a truck is overturned on that stretch of road.
"Motorists are advised to avoid the route if possible (or) leave your journey until later in the morning," she said.
